Beer - Part of the magic of Christmas!

Christmas is a time when we all like to make things extra special and ignore normal day to day practicality to create a little bit of magic.

We go out of our way to find the most sustainable, high quality and locally produced goods because it all counts as pieces of the jigsaw puzzle we are doing to make the festive period live up to our expectations.

The Turkey tastes better if we know the journey it has taken to end up on the dining table, the Christmas tree looks that bit more spectacular if we went to the farm where it was grown to choose it, the decorations are much more interesting if they have been made by a local crafter who has demonstrated their passion and creativity.

Locally produced beer has all these elements combined.

This year many of us will pass the overgrown, locked gates of a brewery that for many years (40+) was bustling, helping people to create that special Christmas feeling. In the days and weeks before Christmas those gates were wide open, the hedges were trimmed, mince pies and Porter were offered by a dedicated, cheerful staff who wore Santa hats and busied themselves with the huge responsibility of providing the perfect pint for the local community.

Sadly for the staff and regulars this tradition was ended by men in grey suites (MIGs) that decided it was not financially viable.

These same "MIGs" would rather you put a slab of bottles (with some mythical creature in a Santa costume on the label) in your online supermarket trolley when ordering your pre-prepared frozen Turkey crown whilst waiting for your tree and decorations to be delivered directly to your door by a global megacompany. Men in grey suits will, if they can, remove Christmas traditions from our lives one by one until the Elves have been replaced by Chinese robots and Santa Claus along with his Reindeer have been made redundant in favour of "Blue Sky" logistic strategies.

Keep the Christmas magic!

Get your Festive Beer from a Local Independent Brewery where the staff have the passion and desire to make sure your Christmas is all the more special (not to mention the Santa hats, mince pies and Porter)!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all.
